Job summary

DP World is seeking a Finance Business Controller – Freight Forwarding in Barcelona. You will drive financial performance, partner with operations and sales, and deliver accurate reporting to support decisions in a fast-paced logistics setting.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, KPI development and capital evaluation, ensuring IFRS compliance and effective working capital management within the freight forwarding division. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• Minimum 3 years in finance/accounting with leadership exposure.
• Fluent in Spanish and English with strong communication skills.
• Experience with SAP, BPC, Oracle and advanced MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for the freight forwarding division.
• Prepare and deliver monthly reporting packs (MBR) per group standards and IFRS.
• Partner with Operations and Sales for financial insights in negotiations and decisions.
• Drive KPI development and financial analysis to improve performance.
• Support working capital management and evaluation of CAPEX investments.

You will deliver accurate reporting, provide insightful analysis, and support decision-making to improve profitability and operational efficiency in a fast-paced logistics environment.

How You Will Contribute

• Oversee all financial activities, including profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the freight forwarding division
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly reporting packs (MBR) in line with group standards and IFRS requirements
• Act as a business partner to Operations and Sales, providing financial insights for contract negotiations and decision-making
• Drive performance improvement through KPI development, financial analysis, and operational efficiency initiatives
• Ensure effective working capital management and support CAPEX investment decisions with robust financial evaluation
• Support regional teams, shared services, and audit processes, ensuring compliance and collaboration across functions
• Lead reporting optimization and automation to improve efficiency and reduce non-value-added activities

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with min. 3 years’ experience in finance/accounting, including a management role
• Fluent in Spanish and English with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Self-driven and reliable, able to work independently in demanding environments and support operations
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong organizational skills and ability to push boundaries
• Experience with SAP, BPC, Oracle and advanced MS Office proficiency
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and project management capabilities
• Experience in logistics/contract logistics and mentoring others is a plus
