Job summary

Mermec is seeking a Service Account Engineer and Field Operations Coordinator in Bilbao, País Vasco, Spain to drive operational performance and project KPIs. The role leads a new team and coordinates with subcontractors, planning work from the front in a start-up environment.

Collaborate with the Italian Service Account Engineer for training, travel across Spain, night shifts and weekends as needed, and act as the on-site customer liaison to ensure satisfaction and profitability. Based in Madrid.

Qualifications

• Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English; strong communication.
• Minimum 6 years in similar roles in electronics/auto/rail/oil & gas.
• Willingness to travel up to ~30% within Spain; based in Madrid.
• Customer-focused with leadership and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Achieve targets and meet contract deadlines.
• Coordinate and schedule the team and on-site activities, including logistics.
• Plan and monitor all activities required for contract execution.
• Interact with the Italian team during warranty and commissioning phases.
• Act as on-site customer point of contact for the project duration.
• Provide technical advisory support to customers.
• Manage field spare parts and tools through the team.
• Suggest product and process improvements with a 360-degree view.
• Support team training and professional development.
• Monitor and manage team performance.
