Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Barcelona is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to lead and manage the housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest satisfaction in a luxury environment. Based in Barcelona, you will report to the Director of Rooms and collaborate with Front Office, Engineering and F&B to deliver seamless guest experiences.

The role requires proven leadership in luxury hospitality, strong people management, budgeting acumen and fluency

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience as Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper within a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and people management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning methodologies, laundry management and luxury service standards.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting and cost controls.
• Fluency in English; Spanish is highly preferred; additional languages are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest luxury hospitality standards are consistently achieved.
• Develop, implement and monitor departmental procedures, service standards and quality assurance programmes.
• Manage, motivate, coach and develop the Housekeeping and Laundry teams, fostering a culture of excellence, engagement and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, heart-of-house areas and laundry facilities are maintained in immaculate condition.
• Monitor productivity, labour costs, departmental budgets and operating expenses while maintaining exceptional service quality.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with brand standards, health and safety regulations and cleanliness requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
• Oversee inventory management, procurement and control of housekeeping supplies, linen, uniforms and equipment.
• Handle guest feedback and service recovery situations promptly and professionally.
• Support sustainability initiatives and implement environmentally responsible housekeeping practices.
