Job summary

Amazon Spain Services, S.L.U. seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to lead automation and operations for the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC).

You will join the AWS Managed Operations team, building and guiding operations and development teams delivering high-availability services for EU customers. You will collaborate with global teams to launch ESC in 2025 and continuously improve service availability, performance, and efficiency, including handling on-call rotations and incident resolution to

Qualifications

• Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
• Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
• Experience in Systems engineering, site reliability engineering, building and operating systems at scale.
• Candidate must be a national of an EU member state and residing in the EU to operate the AWS European Sovereign Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the launch of the ESC in 2025 and work with global AWS teams.
• Improve availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the ESC.
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents outside business hours.
