Job summary

Amazon Spain Services, S.L.U. in Madrid seeks experienced systems engineers to help launch the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), building and leading operations teams delivering high-availability AWS services for EU customers.

Role involves automation, on-call rotations, collaborating with global teams, improving availability and latency, and ensuring scalable, reliable services.

Ideal candidates have Linux, scripting, and SRE background, and are EU nationals.

Qualifications

Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
Experience in Systems engineering / site reliability engineering at scale.
This role requires you to be a national of an EU member state and reside in the EU.

Responsibilities

Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025 with global teams.
Lead and collaborate on operations improvements to ensure availability, latency, and efficiency of ESC.
Develop and test automation scripts and contribute to day-to-day operational excellence.
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations to resolve incidents outside business hours.
