Job summary

N26 Inc. seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a Data Platform team undergoing a product-oriented transformation. You will drive strategy, platform automation, and scalable ownership models across the company, enabling autonomous use of platform capabilities.

You will coach engineers, define roadmaps, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Security to deliver compliant, reliable platform solutions that empower development teams and advance data/AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven background leading high-impact engineering teams in platform or infra contexts.
• Experience transforming teams toward long-term strategic goals.
• Experience with public cloud providers, ideally AWS; understands cloud-native data ops.
• Exposure to ML workflows or MLOps is a plus but not required.
• Strong understanding of data platform architectures and scale.
• Familiarity with automation, observability, IaC, and secure-by-default design.
• Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Security.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; English professional proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive strategic evolution toward a scalable data platform enabling AI use cases by default.
• Empower development teams to safely and autonomously leverage data and platform capabilities.
• Establish a long-term roadmap aligning data platform with AI needs and regulatory constraints.
• Build and grow a high-performing, cross-functional team delivering reliable, scalable, compliant platform solutions.
• Shape team culture with initiative, technical leadership, and shared ownership.
• Coach engineers to strengthen skills across data, infra, and platform engineering; raise ownership standards.
• Lead performance management to push the team toward autonomy and impact.
• Act as liaison between Engineering, Product, Security, and other stakeholders on roadmap and priorities.
