Job summary

Freyrecruitment is seeking an experienced Boat Captain for a 44ft IRC offshore racing yacht ahead of the 2027 season. The role combines sailing, technical maintenance and the organisation of a competitive racing programme with events in the Mediterranean and UK.

Ideal candidates will have strong IRC offshore racing experience, exceptional seamanship, and the ability to manage deliveries independently while coordinating budgets and crew logistics for high-profile races.

Qualifications

• Strong IRC offshore racing experience and seasoned seamanship.
• Excellent organisational and budgeting skills.
• Proven ability to manage deliveries and race preparation.
• Experience coordinating crew travel, logistics and training.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance schedule, rig, sails, deck equipment and onboard systems.
• Coordinate contractors, yard periods, berthing and deliveries.
• Oversee budgets, quotes and expenditure for the programme.
• Organise crew travel, customs and documentation for events.
• Coordinate training with performance coach and team.
• Deliver the yacht between Mediterranean and UK events.
