We believe our candidates are just as important as our clients, and when you partner with us, you get a dedicated team that champions your professional growth.
We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor for a major international project.
About the role:
We are seeking a hands-on, safety-driven Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor to lead and direct site- wide electrical, control systems, and instrumentation installation, loop checking, and testing crews. This role is critical to supervising day-to-day field installation of low/medium voltage power distribution, cable containment, instrument mounting, tubing, point-to-point wiring checks, and pre-commissioning activities.
Acting as a key operational interface between Site Engineering, Trade Contractors, QA/QC, and Commissioning, you will ensure all field E&I systems progress safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards from Mechanical Completion to functional operational handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision & Crew Leadership: Direct, supervise, and assign daily workloads to site electricians, instrument technicians, and subcontractors to maintain productivity and achieve critical path schedule milestones.
- Installation Quality & Verification: Oversee the physical installation of cable tray containment, cable pulling, terminations, junction boxes, switchgear, transformers, field transmitters, control valves, and pneumatic tubing in full compliance with drawings and engineering specifications.
- Testing & Pre-Commissioning Support: Supervise cold and hot testing procedures including point-to-point continuity checks, Megger/insulation resistance testing, instrument calibration, and provide frontline support during loop checks alongside commissioning engineers.
- Punch List & Issue Resolution: Conduct routine system walkdowns with clients and QA/QC teams, identify field defects and punch items, coordinate swift corrective actions, and secure timely sign-offs prior to handover.
- Turnover & Field Documentation: Verify inspection test records (ITRs) redline single-line diagrams (SLDs) and P&IDs, confirm calibration logs, and review QA/QC sign-offs for final dossier completion.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Maintain close daily coordination across Site Construction Managers, Package Leads, EHS Officers, client representatives, and vendor technical specialists.
Requirements
- Language Skills: Professional fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Experience: Proven experience as an E&I Supervisor, Electrical General Foreman, or Field Installation Superintendent on major industrial, energy, oil & gas, chemical, or mining construction projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid practical knowledge of LV/MV electrical distribution, motor control centres (MCC) control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA interfaces) field instrumentation calibration, loop checking, and hazardous area standards (ATEX/IECEx).
- Drawing Literacy: Proficiency in reading and interpreting single-line diagrams (SLDs) schematic wiring diagrams, P&IDs, instrument loop sheets, cable schedules, and hook-up drawings.
- Qualifications: Recognised trade certification, electrical trade license, or a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, or equivalent demonstrated field leadership experience. CompEx certification is an advantage.
- Soft Skills: Strong proactive leadership, practical troubleshooting skills, dispute-resolution abilities, and the capacity to coordinate effectively across multicultural, multidisciplinary site crews.
