CDC Global Solutions seeks a BD Director – Europe for a CDMO Fill/Finish & API in Europe. This is their first BD hire in the region, reporting to the leadership team, with scope to build the Europe business from scratch.

Based in Europe, you will develop strategy, build a pipeline across API, finished-dose, and sterile injectable manufacturing, manage the full sales cycle, and represent the company at major conferences while coordinating with Australia-based teams.

BD Director – Europe - CDMO Fill/Finish & API

CDC are working with a CDMO based in Australia looking for their first ever BD hire in Europe - reporting straight into the leadership team, with real scope to build the region from scratch.

They have a facility across APIs, oral finished dose, and sterile injectables (liquid fill & lyophilised), plus high containment/high potency manufacturing. TGA, FDA and MHLW accredited, with recognition across Europe and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the European business development strategy, building the sales pipeline from the ground up
• Identify, target and win new business across API, oral finished dose and sterile injectable manufacturing services
• Manage the full sales cycle - prospecting, RFP response, commercial negotiation and contract close
• Build and maintain a network of key decision-makers across European pharma and biotech (sponsors, VPs of Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Procurement leads)
• Represent at major industry conferences and trade events (CPhI, DCAT, etc.), acting as the face of the business across the region
• Partner with technical, quality and operations teams in Australia to scope client requirements and convert opportunities into signed contracts
• Feed market intelligence and client insight back into the business to shape capacity planning and service offering
• Report on pipeline, forecasting and territory performance to senior leadership

Requirements

• Proven business development track record within a CDMO, CRO or pharma manufacturing services environment
• Established network across European pharma/biotech, with existing relationships at sponsor level
• Demonstrated ability to build a territory from scratch, with minimal existing infrastructure or support
• Strong understanding of the drug development/manufacturing outsourcing landscape (API, oral dose and/or sterile injectables)
• Comfortable operating autonomously and cross-culturally with a Australian-based team
• Based in Europe, with willingness to travel regularly across the region and periodically to Australia
