Axpo Group in Madrid seeks a skilled BIM modeler to lead the creation of digital twins for substations and powerline networks. You will ensure model consistency and drive innovation in automation and process optimization.

The ideal candidate has over 5 years of Revit proficiency and at least 3 years in BIM modeling for infrastructure projects. With flexible working hours and a hybrid arrangement, you will also benefit from meal allowances and comprehensive health insurance coverage.

Overview

At Axpo, Switzerland's largest producer of renewable energy, we are building a digital twin ecosystem for substations and power line networks. This full‑time (100 %) role leads the creation of living digital replicas of critical energy infrastructure, enabling smarter decisions, predictive maintenance and a future‑ready grid.

Your Mission

• Create high‑fidelity Digital Twins and As‑Is BIM models of substations and powerlines from point‑cloud survey data and asset documentation, meeting Axpo’s exacting standards.
• Integrate multi‑source data (GIS, ERP, CAD) into unified BIM models that serve as a single source of truth for our energy assets.
• Architect and maintain a standardized BIM component library for substations and powerlines, setting benchmarks for digital representation.
• Deliver IFC exports with clean schemas and rigorous data structures that ensure smooth interoperability across platforms and stakeholders.
• Collaborate across disciplines with specialists in IFC, Revit and related tools to ensure model consistency, quality and interoperability.
• Drive model‑based quantity take‑offs and cost calculations, turning geometry into actionable intelligence.
• Participate in internal hackathons to push for innovation in automation and process optimisation of modeling practices.

What Makes You the Right Fit

• A background in electrical or mechanical engineering – or an equally compelling portfolio that speaks for itself.
• Master‑level Revit proficiency backed by 5 + years of hands‑on experience and a portfolio that proves it.
• At least 3 years of dedicated BIM modelling for infrastructure projects.
• Ability to automate Revit workflows with Dynamo/Python, demonstrating scalability.
• Deep fluency in open‑BIM, IFC schema and the full BIM process landscape (Use Cases, Quality Control, CDE, EIR, BEP).
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Self‑driven, collaborative and thrives in cross‑functional teams.

What Sets You Apart

• Autodesk Certified Professional or equivalent BIM/Revit certification.
• Fluency in Python and Dynamo for workflow automation.
• Hands‑on experience with point‑cloud processing and clean‑up.
• German language skills (oral and written) – a strong plus.
