Amaris Consulting in Spain is seeking a backend engineer to develop scalable AI-powered backend systems and APIs on Azure. You will build, deploy and optimize cloud-based AI solutions, integrating RAG, speech-to-text and LLM-based features into production environments.

Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers and Frontend Developers to deliver performant solutions, monitor performance, and continuously improve code quality. Fluent English required in this international team.

Descripción del empleo

• Develop scalable backend systems and APIs to support AI solutions using Azure services.
• Build, deploy and optimize cloud-based AI solutions.
• Integrate advanced AI functionalities such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), speech-to-text and LLM-based solutions into production environments.
• Design and develop solutions leveraging Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering.
• Use Azure services such as Azure Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB and Azure Key Vault to improve solution performance, security and scalability.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers and Frontend Developers to ensure the seamless integration of AI models and solutions.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and resolve problems related to backend services and AI model deployments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing code bases, challenging current implementations and identifying opportunities for innovation.
• Stay up to date with market trends and developments in Generative AI, LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Contribute, when required, to the design and implementation of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions leveraging LLMs.
• Adapt quickly to changing requirements, including production defects, legal requirements and security-related topics.

Your profile

• 3-5 years of experience in software development, backend development or a similar technical role.
• Solid technical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, particularly Generative AI, LLMs and NLP.
• Hands-on experience with prompt engineering combined with code engineering — this is not a prompt-only role.
• Experience developing and integrating AI solutions into production environments.
• Good knowledge of Azure cloud services and experience working with cloud-based solutions.
• Experience with technologies such as RAG, LLMs, speech-to-text or other AI models is highly valued.
• Previous experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) is a plus.
• Ability to easily switch between different development contexts and adapt to changing requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to challenge existing implementations and contribute to improving the code base.
• A strong interest in innovation and emerging AI technologies.
• Fluent English is required.
