Amaris Consulting in Barcelona is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, develop and operate scalable AI solutions on Azure. You will join multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure, cloud-based backend systems and APIs in an agile environment.

You will mentor teammates, collaborate with data scientists and frontend developers, and help advance Generative AI capabilities, IDP projects, and MLOps practices while prioritizing reliability, cost efficiency and continuous learning.

Formación

• +7 years of backend development or software engineering experience, ideally in cloud environments.
• Experience designing and developing scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Proven experience building AI solutions (ML/Generative AI/LLMs).
• Hands-on knowledge of Azure and its ecosystem (Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, Key Vault).
• Experience with CI/CD and production deployments (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices: clean code, design patterns, testing, documentation.
• Professional level of English for collaboration with international teams.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs that support AI solutions on Azure.
• Build and optimize cloud-based AI solutions focusing on performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Integrate AI capabilities into production environments, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Leverage Azure services to enhance scalability and security across services.
• Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, and frontend developers for seamless AI integration.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot and resolve issues ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Stay updated on market trends in Generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
• Potentially design and implement Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) leveraging LLMs.
• Mentor junior profiles and lead technical initiatives when needed.
• Support continuous learning through Technology Academy, Udemy, and certifications.

As a Senior AI Engineer (7-10 years of experience), you will play a key role in the design, development, deployment, and operation of scalable and secure AI solutions on Azure. You will be a core member of multidisciplinary squads, combining your expertise in backend engineering, cloud, and DevOps/ML Ops practices to build and operate business‑critical services.

• Other relevant AI models / LLMs.
• Leverage Azure Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, and Azure Key Vault to enhance scalability, security, and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, AI engineers, and frontend developers to ensure seamless integration of AI models into products.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backend services and AI model deployments, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Keep an up‑to‑date understanding of market trends in Generative AI, especially around LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Desired: Design, develop, and implement Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to make high‑impact technical decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams (engineering, data, product, operations).
• Proactive attitude, strong sense of ownership, and focus on continuous improvement.
• Comfortable working in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban), and able to lead technical initiatives when needed.
