Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking an ambitious Data Center Design & Construction Project Manager to lead end-to-end expansions across Spain. You will own design, permitting, and construction, coordinating cross-functional teams of engineers, architects, and contractors to deliver high- performing facilities.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and quality while navigating local codes and international standards. On-site Madrid role with travel as needed, offering growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience managing complex design and construction projects in mission-critical sectors such as data centers.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems (UPS, chillers, BMS, fire protection) and Spanish regulations.
• Degree in Engineering or related field (Level 5/6 engineering qualifications acceptable).
• Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle design, permitting, and construction for new-build and expansion data center projects in Spain.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, architects, and contractors for seamless execution.
• Oversee project controls: budgets, schedules, risk logs, change logs, and quality tracking.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, permitting processes, and international standards during delivery.
• Oversee commissioning and handovers to IT, operations, and security teams.
