Job summary

Iron Mountain in Madrid, Spain, seeks an ambitious Data Center Design & Construction Project Manager to lead end-to-end expansion projects across Spain, transforming concepts into high-performing facilities. You will collaborate with engineering, architectural and contractor partners, manage budgets and schedules, navigate permitting, and ensure compliance with local codes and international standards.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience managing complex design and construction projects in mission-critical environments (data centers, high-tech labs, or MEP-heavy settings).
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems (UPS, chillers, BMS, fire protection) and Spanish regulations.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction/Project Management, or local equivalent.
• Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle design, permitting, and construction for new-build and expansion data center projects across Spain.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, architectural, and contractor partners to ensure seamless execution.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, risk registers, change logs, and quality tracking using Procore, ACC, and Facility Grid.
• Navigate local Spanish building codes, permitting processes, and international standards while adhering to IMDC delivery protocols.
• Oversee commissioning and handovers to security, IT, and operations teams.
