Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca is seeking a Help Cook to join our Culinary Team. Based at the Mallorca resort, you will support the Chef in preparing a variety of dishes and help maintain kitchen efficiency.

Ideal candidates have a high school culinary diploma or equivalent, basic cooking techniques, strong time management, and a commitment to food safety, hygiene, and teamwork. This role offers learning and development opportunities, health benefits, and a collaborative MO family

Qualifications

High school culinary diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food handling.
Ability to execute and maintain consistency in the daily menu, ensuring high-quality standards.
Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Experience managing inventory, controlling stock levels, and minimizing food waste.

Responsibilities

Ingredient preparation: wash, peel, cut, and chop vegetables; prep meats and proteins.
Maintain cleanliness and order: keep workstations clean and organized; surfaces cleaned after use.
Assisting in cooking: help in preparing dishes following chef's instructions.
Stock management: check stock levels and assist in ordering supplies.
Adhering to hygiene and safety standards: ensure compliance with health and food safety regulations.
