Job summary

Tether Capital is launching a new credit vertical focused on providing short-term liquidity and credit facilities to fintechs, payment providers, exchanges, and other financial institutions. We are seeking a Credit Lead (underwriter) to join this initiative and help build the credit function from the ground up.

This hands-on role requires strong experience in underwriting and structuring, the ability to assess businesses, make credit recommendations, and develop policies and processes to support

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant credit experience.
• Strong experience in credit underwriting and structuring, not just analysis.
• Experience with fintech & payments.
• Background in institutional lending, private credit or venture debt.
• Experience establishing credit policies, processes, or risk frameworks.
• Crypto or digital assets experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and structure credit facilities including revolving lines and liquidity facilities.
• Analyse financial statements, cash flows, liquidity position and repayment capacity.
• Determine lending amounts, terms, covenants, security, and other risk protections.
• Develop credit policies, underwriting guidelines, templates, and concentration limits from scratch.
• Monitor credit risk and borrower performance and establish monitoring processes.
• Support the development and scaling of the new credit business.
