Job summary

El Fuerte Marbella 5* in Marbella, Spain, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant (Ayudante de Cocina) to join our luxury kitchen brigade. You will support section cooks, prepare fresh ingredients, follow technical recipe sheets, and maintain the cold chain and spotless stations.

You should have at least 1 year of hotel kitchen experience, formal culinary education, and a Food Handler Certificate. Fluent Spanish and a willingness to learn are essential for delivering 5-star quality in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of kitchen experience in 4- or 5-star hotels.
• Formal training in Culinary Arts or Gastronomy.
• Active Food Handler Certificate (Carné de Manipulador de Alimentos).
• Fluent Spanish; basic English helpful; familiar with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: assist cooks with daily meal assembly and quality checks.
• Mise en Place: wash, peel, and chop ingredients for garnishes and prep.
• Basic Recipes: cook simple dishes using fichas técnicas and verify freshness.
• Buffet Operations: set up, maintain, and clear buffet stations during service.
• Cold Storage: manage walk-in fridges; protect the cold chain daily.
• Waste & Tools: record waste and inspect tools; report issues promptly.
• Sanitation: sanitize workspaces and equipment after each shift.
