Air Products in Barcelona, Spain, is hiring a Collections Specialist for our Credit & Collections team. Hybrid work model with up to 3 days remote per week. You will manage customer accounts, chase payments, and resolve account issues to support timely collections.

The role emphasizes customer focus, clear communication, and proactive account management in an international environment. English fluency and basic accounting knowledge are required.

Responsabilités

• Ensure timely collection of outstanding balances following policy.
• Respond to calls and emails within targets; address complaints when needed.
• Make outbound collection calls to drive productivity and portfolio action.
• Coordinate with Customer Services, Sales, and customers on disputes and credit holds.
• Support and back up fellow collectors as required.
• Liaise with the Team Lead on all credit-related issues.
• Keep logs of customer interactions and account information up to date.

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to join our Credit & Collections organization in Barcelona. In this role, you will manage customer accounts and outstanding balances while working closely with customers and internal teams to support timely payments and effective resolution of account-related issues.

You will work in an international environment where collaboration, customer focus, clear communication, and proactive account management are key to delivering a high-quality service.

As a Collections Specialist you will:

• Ensure timely collection of outstanding customer balances in line with Air Products' Credit & Collections Escalation Policy
• Respond to customer calls and emails within department targets; identify customer complaints and elevate appropriately
• Proactively make outbound collection calls to customers to drive strong daily productivity and maintain an effective, action oriented portfolio
• Anticipate and communicate with Customer Services, Sales Representatives, and customers regarding disputed items, potential payment issues, and credit hold situations
• Support and act as backup for fellow collector associates as required
• Liaise with the Credit & Collections Team Lead on all credit related issues.
• Maintain accurate and up to date logs of individual customer interactions and account information

Required / Must have

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• A good understanding of customer accounts and end-to-end business processes
• Basic accounting knowledge, particularly in customer accounting
• Proficiency in MS Office applications

Preferred / Nice to have

• Ideally have experience handling inbound and outbound calls, preferably within a Credit & Collections environment
• Strong negotiation skills, with experience engaging both customers and internal stakeholders on topics such as collections, dispute resolution, account reconciliation, and charges/payments
• Experience with SAP is an advantage, though not mandatory
