Job summary

JD.com is seeking an ambitious Category Manager to lead the EU Food category, shaping assortment, pricing and supplier partnerships across Spain. You will translate market and customer insights into effective category strategies and work closely with Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations and Product teams.

You will have track record in Category Management, Buying or Merchandising, strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, and fluency in Spanish and English, enabling effective collaboration

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising or Procurement, ideally within local food.
• Strong analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end category management processes for EU Food, including assortment, pricing, supplier management, inventory and promotions.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with key national, regional and local suppliers.
• Analyse category performance, customer demand, market trends and assortment gaps to identify growth opportunities.
• Build and continuously optimise product assortment to meet local customer needs.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure stock availability and inventory efficiency.
• Develop and execute category sales strategies, including pricing and promotions.
• Develop long-term category strategies tailored to local market needs.
• Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations and Product teams.

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and driven Category Manager to support the development and growth of our EU Food category, ensuring we provide customers with the right selection of products at competitive prices.

The ideal candidate will have experience in category management, buying, merchandising or procurement, with a strong ability to build meaningful supplier relationships and translate market and customer insights into effective category strategies.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape category strategy and contribute to the growth of a dynamic and fast-growing e-commerce business.

What You Will Do

• Manage the end-to-end category management process, including assortment, pricing, supplier management, inventory and promotions.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with key national, regional and local suppliers.
• Analyse category performance, customer demand, market trends and assortment gaps to identify growth opportunities.
• Build and continuously optimise the product assortment to meet local customer needs.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure healthy stock availability and inventory efficiency.

• Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations and Product teams.

About You

• Relevant experience in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising or Procurement, ideally within local food.

• Strong analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making skills.
