Job summary

Morningstar Europe Services, S.L. seeks an Associate Data Research Analyst to process global market data in Madrid. The role sits in the EMEA Managed Investment Data Operations team, focusing on data coverage, quality and timeliness, reporting to the Associate Data Manager.

You will collaborate with global data teams, manage relationships with fund companies, and drive data accuracy using Lean Six Sigma and structured specifications. Hybrid in-office 4 days/week in Madrid, with benefits provided.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Fluency in English and French is mandatory.
• Collaborates well in a team environment and communicates with diverse backgrounds.
• Be client centric.
• Solid understanding of the financial industry and investment data.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Actively collect & Process managed investment data using Morningstar collection systems and ensure data timelines, completeness, and accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with the global data teams.
• Data expert on investment data points, processes, methodologies, calculations & different fund structures.
• Manage business relationships with fund companies and set up acquisition channels.
• Meet predetermined production deadlines for internal and external clients.
• Continuously evaluate procedures, create analytical tools, and implement improvements.
• Utilize LEAN Six Sigma to track and resolve complex data issues.
• Own issues in the data ticket queue and provide timely updates and resolution.
• Understand roles of internal partners to expedite resolution.
• Translate internal requests into detailed specifications and user stories.
• Improve and document client use cases for new functionality.
