Mercor is seeking native Bengali speakers to annotate and transcribe Bengali documents for training data. You will identify and bound meaningful regions, assign types and reading order, and ensure exact Bengali transcription, even from handwritten content.

Work involves multi-column layouts, diagram-containing pages, and rigorous cross-review by a second Bengali expert to maintain high quality. Strong attention to detail and consistency are essential for success on this project.

Formación

• Native Bengali speaker with full command of Bengali script and orthography.
• Experience in annotation, transcription, localization, proofreading, journalism, or related review work.
• Character-level accuracy is essential; precise and consistent application of diacritics.
• Systematic, taxonomy-driven approach across multi-page documents.
• Comfort with unfamiliar layouts including multi-column documents.

Responsabilidades

• Open and check a task: verify Bengali content and legibility.
• Annotate structure: bound pages into regions with types and reading order.
• Record relationships: link regions to parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce Bengali text exactly as written.
• Capture page metadata and flag illegible regions.
• Review work through second Bengali expert assessment.
