Qualifications

4+ years of Android native mobile development experience.
Hands-on Kotlin and Java proficiency for production apps.
Experience with data structures, system design and design patterns.
Experience integrating third-party SDKs and privacy/compliance tech.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications for phones and tablets.
Integrate and optimize third-party SDKs including ads, analytics, and privacy tools.
Identify and address technical debt to improve team productivity.
Ensure performance, stability, and responsiveness via profiling and debugging.
Write and maintain unit/UI tests and automated pipelines to minimize regressions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications for phones and tablets.
Implement, integrate, and optimize third-party SDKs including advertising, analytics, and privacy frameworks.
Identify and address technical debt, continuously improving team productivity and ensuring the delivery of high-impact projects.
Ensure application performance, stability, and responsiveness through profiling, debugging, and optimization.
Write and maintain unit tests, UI tests, and automated pipelines to ensure code quality and minimize regressions.

Must-have Skills

4+ years of Android native mobile development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin and Java.
Familiarity with data structures, system design, and design patterns.
Hands-on experience integrating third-party SDKs, working across distributed teams, and ensuring compliance with privacy and advertising technologies.

Nice-to-have:

AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
Passion for news and creativity in introducing new ideas and technologies.
Full-stack background is a plus, with familiarity in cloud services, GraphQL, Firebase, etc.
A background in journalism is advantageous.
