Job summary

n8n, a remote-first AI-native workflow platform, seeks an experienced accounting professional to build a lean accounting function. You will own core operations, leverage automation, and scale processes across multiple entities while expanding into AR and revenue accounting over time.

You’ll join a diverse, Europe-wide team, reporting to the Head of Accounting & Tax, with real ownership from day one and opportunities to broaden your scope as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on GL and AP/P2P experience with journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of IFRS or HGB and VAT fundamentals; know when to seek guidance.
• Interest in AI and automation; validate automated outputs and improve workflows.
• Proficient with spreadsheets and accounting systems; strong coding accuracy and data quality.
• Responsible and reliable in daily operations; proactive improvements.
• Clear communication in English and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own Procure-to-Pay & Expense operations end-to-end, including coding, approvals, and biweekly payments.
• Deliver accurate accounting and month-end close; manage OPEX, card spend, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
• Build an AI-native accounting function using modern platforms and automate workflows while maintaining evidence for audits.
