Soho House Barcelona is seeking an Accountant to oversee financial planning, reporting, and daily accounting operations for the Barcelona property. You will maintain financial records, monitor budgets, manage accounts payable/receivable, and ensure internal controls and procedures are followed.

The role requires experience in accounting/finance, strong knowledge of AR, VAT accounting, invoicing, and balance sheet reconciliations, plus fluent Spanish and good English.

Formación

• Experience in accounting/finance, ideally in hospitality, retail, or fast-paced environments.
• Strong understanding of AR, cash management, reconciliations and VAT accounting.
• Experience with invoicing, payment reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of Spanish VAT regulations and SII reporting requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; able to meet deadlines.
• Organised, time-management oriented, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems.

The Role…

The Accountant at Soho House Barcelona will oversee the financial planning, reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations of the property. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring budgets, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.

Main Duties…

• Issuing and processing customer invoices

• Reconciling incoming payments and ensuring accurate allocation of cash

• Reconciling and reviewing Accounts Receivable (AR) balance sheet accounts

• Managing and reconciling cash balances

• Reconciling the VAT ledger and investigating any discrepancies

• Preparing and submitting VAT reporting information for the SII

• Supporting general administrative and accounting tasks as requir

Requirements…

• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within hospitality, retail, or a fast-paced business environment.

• Good understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR), cash management, reconciliations, and VAT accounting.

• Experience with invoicing, payment reconciliation, and balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Working knowledge of Spanish VAT regulations and SII reporting requirements.

• Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems.

• Fluent Spanish and good working knowledge of English.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
