Job summary

VerdeX Energy, a start-up in Aarhus, Denmark, is seeking a skilled Software Developer to shape our trading platform from day one.

You will design, build and continuously improve core systems with traders and quantitative profiles, translating market data into robust software solutions across the full development lifecycle. Join early and influence technology decisions as the business scales.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming skills and solid understanding of software architecture and development principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with APIs, databases and data-intensive applications.
• Interest in data, financial markets or energy markets.
• Ability to own projects from idea to production.
• Pragmatic and proactive mindset balancing speed with quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain the core systems supporting our trading activities.
• Build reliable and scalable pipelines for collecting, processing and storing market, weather, fundamental and trading data.
• Develop tools that enable traders to analyse markets, identify opportunities and execute strategies across intraday and day-ahead power markets.
• Automate trading workflows and operational processes to improve execution speed, scalability and reliability.
• Ensure trading infrastructure is robust, scalable and reliable in fast-moving energy markets.
• Take an active role in defining the technology stack and architecture as the company expands into new strategies and markets.
