Job description

Do you enjoy finding the technical specialist everyone else says is impossible to find? And do you like getting close enough to the technology to understand what you are actually searching for?

We are looking for a Technical Recruitment Specialist who will work closely with our R&D teams and take ownership for technical recruitment - from understanding what we need and finding the right people to assessment, hiring and a good start at MyDefence.

And there is plenty to get involved in. MyDefence is growing, our R&D organisation is developing, and so is the technology behind our solutions.

To succeed in this role, you will build strong partnerships with R&D, connect with hard‑to‑find technical talent and help us take a more proactive approach to identifying and attracting the capabilities we need.

What you will do

As our Technical Recruitment Specialist, you will work closely with R&D leaders and hiring managers to identify, attract and hire the technical talent we need to support our continued growth.

R&D will be your primary area of responsibility, but depending on recruitment volume and priorities, you will also support technical recruitment across other parts of MyDefence.

You will get close to the technical organisation, understand the roles and capabilities we need, and translate those needs into clear candidate profiles, targeted searches and strong hiring decisions.

You will also help create a structured start for new R&D colleagues through scalable onboarding and learning activities.

The role is focused on recruitment and onboarding. Broader HR responsibilities such as performance management, organisational development and general HR support to managers sit elsewhere within People & Culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

Technical Recruitment Partnership: Partner with R&D leaders and hiring managers to clarify hiring needs, challenge requirements and turn technical competence needs into clear job descriptions, candidate profiles and recruitment priorities.

End-to-End Technical Recruitment: Own assigned technical recruitment processes from intake and sourcing through screening, interviews, assessment, selection and offer.

Technical Search & Talent Pipelines: Proactively identify and engage technical talent through direct search, LinkedIn Recruiter, engineering communities, professional networks, universities and relevant technical forums. Build and maintain R&D talent pipelines for both current and future hiring needs.

Candidate Screening & Assessment: Conduct initial candidate screenings and assess technical experience, competencies and motivation at a meaningful level before involving technical specialists. Present qualified shortlists and support structured, well‑founded hiring decisions.

Job Profiles & Role Definition: Support R&D leaders in developing and maintaining clear and consistent job descriptions and role profiles as the organisation grows.

Structured R&D Onboarding: Work with R&D leaders and People Experience & Communications to build scalable onboarding and learning journeys for new R&D colleagues, including reusable onboarding material, technical introduction packages, self‑study modules and structured learning plans.

Hiring & Onboarding Capacity: Help R&D leadership align recruitment pace with the organisation’s capacity to onboard and integrate new colleagues effectively.

Recruitment Development: Together with the Talent Acquisition team, continuously strengthen our technical recruitment approach, including sourcing strategies, interview structures, assessment criteria, tools and talent pipelines.

Who we are looking for

You may come from technical recruitment with a strong understanding of engineering and technology, or from a technical background combined with a strong interest and experience in recruitment and people. What matters most is your ability to understand technical talent needs and connect them with the right people.

Technical Background: A technical education or professional background within engineering, electronics, software, IT, automation, mechanical engineering or a related field is a strong advantage, but not a requirement.

Technical Understanding: You can understand technical roles, technologies and competence requirements well enough to ask the right questions, challenge requirements and understand what a hiring manager is really looking for.

Recruitment Experience: You have relevant experience with recruitment, talent acquisition, search or candidate assessment involving technical or specialist profiles.

Search & Networking: You know how to find and engage technical specialists, including those who are not actively looking for a new role, and are comfortable building relevant networks and talent pipelines over time.

Assessment: You have experience using personality, cognitive or other relevant assessment tools as part of recruitment and selection, and you are comfortable combining assessment results with interviews and other candidate information to support strong hiring decisions.

Tools: You are comfortable working with recruitment systems and digital sourcing tools. Experience with ATS platforms and LinkedIn Recruiter is an advantage.

Language: You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Danish is an advantage.

Who you are

Technically curious: You have a genuine interest in technology and quickly build enough understanding of new technical areas to engage credibly with both candidates and hiring managers.

Trusted sparring partner: You ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and help hiring managers sharpen their requirements when the profile they are looking for is unclear, unrealistic or too broad.

Relationship-oriented: You build trust quickly and create strong working relationships with candidates, technical specialists and leaders.

Structured and proactive: You keep track of several recruitment processes at the same time, follow through on agreements and make sure things move forward without compromising quality or candidate experience.

Collaborative: You work naturally across R&D and People & Culture and know when technical expertise needs to be involved – and when you can move the process forward independently.

Internationally minded: You are comfortable working across cultures, functions and geographies and adapt your communication and approach to different candidates and stakeholders.

What we offer you

A mission that matters: Join a defence technology company developing solutions that help protect people and save lives.

Close to the technology: Work directly with R&D leaders and specialists and gain insight into the technologies, competencies and challenges behind our solutions.

A company in growth: Join MyDefence as we continue to grow internationally, creating new opportunities and technical talent needs along the way.

Room to make an impact: Help shape how we attract, assess and build pipelines of technical talent as our recruitment capability develops.

An international environment: Work with colleagues, candidates and recruitment needs across an increasingly international organisation.

A strong People & Culture team: Become part of a collaborative, hands‑on team where we share knowledge, help each other and work closely with the business.

Flexibility in everyday working life: We value being together and staying close to the business, while offering flexibility in how we organise our working day.

The team you will join

You will become part of People & Culture and the Talent Acquisition team, while spending a significant part of your time close to R&D and our technical hiring managers.

You will work particularly closely with our Talent Acquisition Partner and collaborate with colleagues across People & Culture to ensure a smooth transition from recruitment into structured R&D onboarding and employment setup.

We are a growing team with high ambitions, a practical approach and close collaboration. We share knowledge, spar with each other and help each other when priorities shift.

The position is based at our HQ in Nørresundby, Denmark. Regular presence at the office is important in this role, as getting close to our technology, technical teams and hiring managers is an important part of becoming a strong recruitment partner.

Ready to help us find the technical talent that will shape what comes next?

If you enjoy getting close to technology, people and the business - and like the idea of helping us find the specialists who will shape the next chapter of MyDefence - we would really like to hear from you.

We use an online recruitment system, so applications must be submitted electronically.

If you would like to know more about the role, the team or what it is like to work at MyDefence, you are very welcome to reach out to Chief People & Culture Officer, Gitte Lyck.

As part of your employment with MyDefence, you will be required to undergo a background check tailored to your role and level of access, both digital and physical. Maintaining eligibility for such background checks is a continuous requirement throughout your employment.

Application deadline: Apply no later than 27. September 2026
