Job summary

Keepit is seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Copenhagen to modernize on-prem infrastructure and observability. You will own Ansible-driven configuration for hundreds of production servers and guide platform tooling adoption across multiple data centers.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to improve automation, deployment, and performance, while advancing GitOps, Vault integration, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices in a self-managed environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong IaC experience with Ansible or equivalent.
• Solid Linux fundamentals, Debian-based with APT, DNS, filesystems.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, ArgoCD.
• Experience designing platform architecture used by multiple teams.
• Ability to evolve production systems with good engineering judgment.
• Excellent English communication and documentation habits.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer with deep expertise in on-prem bare-metal and Linux to join our Platform Engineering team in Copenhagen.

This role is focused on modernizing our observability/alerting from in-house tooling to using Prometheus and the Grafana Labs LGTM stack, turning an Ansible repository into a de-facto standard for our ~700 servers across 7 data center regions on 3 continents, and assist integrating and standing up more modern platform tooling such as Hashicorp Vault, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, Proxmox automation, and ongoing Linux administration.

Experience designing Platform solutions for multiple teams and working effectively with the engineers who use them is essential for this role.

You will:

• Create, maintain, and run Ansible playbooks to configure hundreds of production servers

• Work with engineering teams to establish patterns focused on automation. You will help with improving observability, deployment, and performance

• Work entirely with self-managed hardware and self-managed services. Standing up new technology and assisting with the transition, onboarding, and showcasing of it

• Drive complex initiatives, such as upgrading the operating systems on many servers, bring production topology into GitOps, and migrate secrets into Hashicorp Vault

• Participate in our "Shift-Left" paradigm, where our efforts help engineering teams handle their own dashboards and alerts without server access

About you

Must-haves:

• Deep understanding of Infrastructure as code tooling in Ansible or equivalent

• Solid Linux fundamentals, particularly with Debian-based systems and APT, nft, DNS, filesystems, user permissions, CLI tools

• Production experience with Kubernetes, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, ArgoCD, and CI/CD (or similar equivalents)

• Experience designing platform architecture, infrastructure, and networking used by multiple engineering teams

• Experience operating and evolving production systems, with the engineering judgment that comes from learning what works and what doesn't

• Excellent communication skills in English

• You work carefully and conscientiously, particularly when making changes to systems that other engineers depend on. You leave a clean trail of documentation

Nice-to-haves:

• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DHCP, and firewalling

• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools effectively, particularly for development, operations, documentation, or knowledge sharing

• A passion for technology and systems

• Personal projects, open-source contributions, homelabs, or other evidence of technical curiosity outside your primary responsibilities
