Job summary

Vestas in Aarhus, Denmark is seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to lead the North Central Europe payroll team, overseeing operations for about 7,500 employees across blue- and white-collar populations in Denmark and driving system changes and harmonization.

You will guide a team of 12 payroll professionals, ensure compliant, timely, efficient payroll delivery, partner with HR, Finance, Tax, Benefits, HRIS, and external providers, and contribute to transformation initiatives within the SAP payroll

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or Business Administration.
• 7+ years leading end-to-end payroll operations with governance and leadership.
• Deep knowledge of Danish payroll legislation, tax rules, and reporting.
• Experience managing external payroll providers and vendor governance.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with HR, Finance, Tax, Benefits, HRIS, and audits.
• Experience with SAP payroll and system implementations or enhancements.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Guide, assist, and advance the payroll team in a collaborative setting.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for Denmark with governance and controls.
• Act as subject matter expert on payroll legislation and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with Danish payroll, tax, labor law, and reporting.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Tax, Benefits, HRIS, and external providers for seamless delivery.
• Drive operational excellence with automation, standardization, and improvements.
• Manage payroll vendor relationships and performance.
• Support payroll transformation and SAP payroll initiatives.
