Job summary

Semco Maritime A/S in Esbjerg is seeking a Team Leader, Payroll to lead a five-person payroll team and own payroll delivery for Denmark. You will drive process excellence and digital development, partnering with HR, IT, Finance and external vendors to improve the employee experience.

You will shape how payroll services are delivered, report to the Director, HR Operations, and contribute to a strong safety culture while ensuring compliant, timely payroll processing for our international business.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of operational payroll experience and end‑to‑end payroll expertise.
• Experience with team leadership and coaching.
• Fluency in Danish and English (written and spoken).
• Solid experience with payroll systems in a large organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of five Payroll Coordinators.
• Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery.
• Drive payroll process optimization, automation, and standardisation.
• Act as the key payroll partner for managers, employees and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT and external vendors to enhance payroll systems and integrations.
