Job summary

Semco Maritime is seeking a Team Leader, Payroll to guide a five-person payroll team and own delivery for Denmark from our Global HQ in Esbjerg. You will drive process excellence and digital development, partnering with HR, IT, Finance and external suppliers to enhance the employee experience.

In this high-visibility role you will shape how payroll services are delivered, lead continuous improvements, and ensure compliant, timely payroll operations across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of operational payroll experience and end-to-end payroll expertise.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Finance or office administration.
• Experience with multiple payroll systems in a large organisation.
• Experience leading a team, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluency in Danish and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of five Payroll Coordinators.
• Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery for Denmark.
• Drive payroll process optimisation, automation, and standardisation.
• Act as key payroll partner for managers, employees, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT and external vendors to enhance payroll systems.
