Benifex is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to evolve our Unified Profile service, the central source of truth for user identities and cross-product data. You will design, build, and run API-driven services at scale, coordinating with Product, Platform, and Security teams to ensure secure, well-governed data flows.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with Java/Spring Boot.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and event-driven services.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and cloud deployments.
• Strong collaboration across product, security, and data teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality REST APIs and backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement and evolve event-driven workflows using Google Cloud Pub/Sub to synchronise profile data across products.
• Ensure the Unified Profile is reliable, scalable, and a single source of truth for user identity and data.
• Improve performance, reliability, and observability with logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Collaborate with product, Platform, Data Engineering and Security teams for compliant data flows.
