As a Senior Frontend Developer in our Shopify Team, you will be part of the Platform Solutions Unit, working closely with backend developers, solution architects, project managers, and specialists across adjacent disciplines. Your primary focus will be theme-based Shopify frontend development, where you will take both hands-on implementation responsibility and senior ownership of frontend workstreams across projects.

This is not only about building features. It is also about making sound technical decisions, structuring solutions for long-term maintainability, and helping ensure high standards in frontend delivery across the Shopify Team. In senior capacity, you are expected to take ownership of your area, collaborate directly with clients when relevant, and help drive work forward from scoping to delivery.

Your Responsibilities

You will take a senior role in designing, building, and advising on frontend solutions for Shopify-based ecommerce platforms. This includes both hands-on development and technical ownership across projects.

• Designing, building, and maintaining high-quality storefront solutions on Shopify
• Developing and extending Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Taking ownership of frontend workstreams across new and existing client projects
• Translating design, business, and user requirements into performant and maintainable frontend solutions
• Collaborating closely with backend developers on integrated functionality and custom frontend requirements
• Advising on the best approach for theme customizations, reusable components, and frontend architecture within Shopify
• Taking part in client dialogue to provide qualified technical sparring on frontend-related decisions
• Supporting solution scoping and estimation together with developers, project managers, and solution architects
• Making informed technical trade-offs and communicating them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Acting as a quality gate through code reviews, sparring, and shared standards across frontend delivery
• Contributing to reusable patterns, best practices, and continuous improvement within the Shopify Team

Your day-to-day tasks will include

• Building and maintaining Shopify storefront features and theme customizations
• Implementing sections, templates, components, and content structures in Shopify
• Writing clean, well-structured, and maintainable frontend code
• Collaborating closely with designers and specialists to ensure strong implementation quality
• Debugging frontend issues across browsers, devices, and environments
• Reviewing code from other developers and contributing to shared frontend standards
• Working closely with backend developers, architects, and project managers on solution design and delivery
• Supporting QA, regression validation, and release readiness across projects
• Participating in technical workshops and internal sparring sessions when scoping or refining solutions
• Helping ensure that delivered solutions are stable, scalable, and maintainable over time

We expect that…

• You have 5+ years of experience working with frontend development for ecommerce platforms
• You have solid experience with Shopify frontend development
• You are confident working with Liquid, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS/SCSS
• You are comfortable taking technical ownership and leading frontend workstreams on projects
• You can translate business and design requirements into clear technical solutions and executable tasks
• You work in a structured, pragmatic way and follow initiatives from idea to production
• You communicate confidently in spoken and written English. Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement
• You are comfortable working directly with clients when needed and can explain technical trade-offs clearly
• You thrive in cross-functional collaboration with developers, project managers, and specialists

Nice To Have (but Not Required)

• Experience with Shopify Plus
• Experience with React, Vue, or similar frontend frameworks
• Experience with headless commerce or modern frontend architecture
• Experience from an agency or consultancy environment
• An eye for frontend quality related to UX, CRO, and accessibility
