Job summary

Monta is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Financial Services team to own the architecture and delivery of scalable financial systems across Europe.

You will redesign the invoicing backbone, implement e-invoicing and VAT compliance, and ensure reliable payment flows from card to payout while collaborating with Finance, Legal, and Product. AI is embedded in daily workflows and opportunities to optimize are abundant.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience at scale with production systems.
• Experience with billing, invoicing, payments or similar financial domains.
• Proven ability to own architecture across multiple teams.
• High ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes.
• Comfortable navigating regulatory and business-model shifts.
• Advanced AI adoption and practical integration into engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the new invoicing system end-to-end and design scalable architecture.
• Build and scale compliance infrastructure for EU markets.
• Improve payment flows, reconciliation, and withdrawals at scale.
• Collaborate across Finance, Legal, Revenue Ops, and Product to ship new models.
• Drive architecture decisions ensuring auditability and traceability of every euro.
• Elevate the engineering team through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
