Job summary

Monta is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Financial Services team to own the architecture and delivery of complex financial systems across Europe. You will drive end-to-end invoicing, compliance infra, and payment flows in a fast-growing platform.

Use of AI tools like Claude Code is central to daily work, with collaboration across Finance, Legal, and Product to enable scalable, auditable solutions for monetary flows and cross-border operations.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience across production systems.
• Experience with financial systems such as invoicing, billing, payment processing.
• Proven ability to own architecture across multiple teams.
• Demonstrated ownership and drive to deliver outcomes.
• Advanced AI use in engineering workflows and problem solving.
• Excellent collaboration and communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the new invoice system end-to-end from design to production.
• Build and scale the compliance infrastructure for EU expansion (e-invoicing, VAT).
• Improve payment flows from card to payout and ensure reconciliation.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Revenue Operations, and Product to deliver new models.
• Drive architecture decisions for auditable, scalable systems across markets.
• Mentor and elevate the Financial Services engineering team through reviews and knowledge sharing.
