Job summary

Camunda seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to own automated reliability testing and chaos engineering at Camunda 8. You will design tests, break things safely to strengthen the platform, and guide product direction while learning new technologies and collaborating with talented colleagues who live our FAITH values.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering (Java).
• Proven drive to experiment, learn new tech, and conduct automated reliability/chaos testing in distributed environments.
• Autonomous, pragmatic problem-solving with ability to influence others.
• Willingness to use Camunda products and approach reliability from a user perspective.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and execute automated chaos experiments and reliability tests.
• Investigate, root-cause, and debug potential failures or performance regressions.
• Continuously improve load testing, chaos engineering, and observability infrastructure.
• Introduce new tooling and approaches for reliability testing and improvements.
• Collaborate closely with QA and engineering teams and share learnings.
