Job summary

Systematic Aarhus seeks a Senior Backend Developer for the Platform team to design and build the scalable foundation used across the SitaWare Suite. You’ll work at the intersection of Java backend development and infrastructure, shaping cluster tooling, installer automation and backend services.

You’ll join a 5-person, international Platform team in Aarhus, collaborating with QA and mentoring juniors, while maintaining Linux environments and Docker/Kubernetes workflows to ensure robust

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including configuring and operating clusters.
• Comfort with Linux systems administration.
• Experience with Java, or willingness to learn it alongside infrastructure skills.
• Independent but collaborative communication style.
• Experience in a Scrum environment.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain and improve Linux environments, Docker-based workflows, and Kubernetes clusters used by our product installer, build pipeline, and test environments.
• Develop new backend functionality, primarily in Java.
• Design and implement platform features across cluster tooling, installer automation, and backend services.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and solve complex problems across codebase and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with QA to maintain high code quality as the product evolves.
• Mentor junior colleagues as they grow into the team.
