Job summary

Camunda is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to own automated reliability testing and chaos engineering at the core of Camunda 8. You will influence product direction while learning new technologies and collaborating with talented colleagues who live our FAITH values.

You'll design and run chaos experiments, improve observability, and work with Java, Go, Kubernetes, Helm, and Grafana to ensure production-readiness across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with Java.
• Proven ability to design automated reliability and chaos tests.
• Experience with distributed systems and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and execute automated chaos experiments and reliability tests.
• Investigate, root-cause and debug failures or regressions in Java products.
• Improve load testing and observability infrastructure for reliability.
• Introduce new tooling for reliability testing and quantify improvements.
• Collaborate with QA and engineering teams and influence roadmaps.
• Advocate user-centric reliability using Camunda products and platforms.
