SATAIR is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Architect to lead the architectural structure, technical steering, and strategic design for the ERP landscape in Copenhagen. You will co-own the technical roadmap with the SDM and establish governance across external partners while driving modernization using SAP BTP and Fiori.

You will manage the transition to RISE, optimize the landscape, and stay ahead with a future operating model.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of SAP Basis and architecture experience across databases, platform stacks and hybrid cloud setups.
• Degree in IT and fluent in English.
• Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA upgrades on RISE, system refreshes, and patching.
• Self-driven and able to handle technical details independently.
• Knowledge of modern SAP hybrid setups and setting new standards.

About the Position

Join our ERP Operation and Integrations team in Copenhagen: Define the Future of Our Hybrid Architecture. We are looking for an SAP Basis Architect to lead the architectural structure, technical steering, and strategic design for our ERP landscape. As a technical anchor with deep, grounded expertise, you will steer our landscape, define our future operating model, co‑own the technical roadmap with our SDM, and establish disciplined governance across our external partners while driving our modernization strategy using SAP BTP and Fiori.

Responsibilities

• Strategic RISE & SIAM Operating Model: Lead the transition away from a traditional hosting setup to a model where we strictly steer our external partners. Coordinate all cloud environments, keeping our Dev, Test, and Prod systems synced and healthy via SAP for Me, ensuring we fully maximize SAP’s standard support model.
• Clean Core Optimization & Modernization (BTP & Fiori): Drive the elimination of obsolete and deprecated ECC legacy transactions, steering the technical landscape toward modern SAP Fiori applications and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) extension capabilities, including modern RFQ apps, predictive analytics, and AI scenarios.
• Roadmap Alignment & Budget Scoping: Own the technical roadmap, partner with the Service Delivery Manager to ensure key milestones and architecture reviews are reflected in Jira. Write Architectural Requirement Dossiers (ARDs) and deliver clear technical requirements and accurate estimates for key initiatives such as the upcoming S/4HANA upgrade.
• Landscape Architecture & Operational Visibility: Map out our end‑to‑end SAP landscape architecture to provide a clear blueprint for our journey to SAP RISE. Design a functional KPI tree that connects directly to this map, giving visibility into how technical system health impacts daily business operations.
• Problem Solving & Escalation Support: Provide expert SAP Basis insights during critical outages or complex root cause analyses (RCAs), helping the team understand root issues and advising on permanent fixes to protect system uptime.

Success Factors

• Create clear visibility by keeping the technical roadmap transparent and mapping the landscape to simple KPI metrics.
• Ensure a predictable RISE transition by proactively managing database growth, archiving strategy, and HANA memory footprint.
• Drive Clean Core evolution by reducing system technical debt and migrating to standard SAP Fiori and BTP innovations.
• Raise technical standards through mentorship and accurate documentation of ARDs.
• Hold partners accountable with clear technical requirements and firm delivery oversight.
• Translate complex infrastructure or security issues into plain language understood by management and other teams.
• Prevent recurring issues by providing decisive technical insights during major incidents.

Qualifications

• Experienced SAP Architect with 8–10 years of SAP Basis and architecture experience, covering databases, platform stacks, and hybrid cloud setups.
• Degree in IT (or similar) and fluent in English.
• Strong technical expertise in managing SAP S/4HANA upgrades on RISE, system refreshes, SAP patch updates, and proactive patching strategies.
• Self‑driven and comfortable handling technical details independently.
• Knowledgeable about modern, best‑practice SAP hybrid setups and able to define new standards.
• Organized, reliable, and diligent in documentation.
• Clear communicator who translates complex technical issues into plain language for non‑technical audiences.
