Job summary

Hitachi Rail Limited seeks an experienced Change Manager to coordinate change, variation, and claims within large rail infrastructure projects. You will maintain logs, marshal substantiation, and prepare decision packs while aligning with the governance model and legal support.

The role requires strong change-control and commercial management expertise, with the ability to work with technical teams and manage high-stakes negotiations under time pressure.

Qualifications

• Strong claims, change-control and commercial management experience in rail, infrastructure, systems or construction projects.
• Ability to work with technical teams to produce defensible substantiation.
• Resilience under time constraints and high-value negotiation pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate the variation/change and claims registers with owner, deadline, evidence path and commercial strategy.
• Coordinate assessments with responsible disciplines (technical, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, site).
• Prepare change submissions, claims narratives, substantiation packs and negotiation briefs with Contract Manager and Legal Support.
• Apply the Hitachi Code of Conduct in decisions, including ethical escalation and confidentiality.
• Control variation, claim and change workflow within approved Governance.
• Launch impact assessments and recommend escalation/decision papers.
