Job summary
Hitachi Rail seeks an Engineering Manager (PDA) to lead governance, engineering integration and design assurance across rail projects. You will drive technical maturity, manage interfaces and ensure safety, RAM and cybersecurity are embedded in all outputs.
Lead diverse teams, coordinate with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders, and guide decisions through formal reviews and design gates to deliver a robust railway solution.
Qualifications
- Senior engineering leadership in rail systems or multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong systems engineering, design assurance and interface management.
- Ability to lead diverse technical teams and manage lifecycle acceptance.
- Resilience under design freezes, escalations, audits and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Define engineering management approach, governance and maturity criteria.
- Lead technical coordination across multiple engineering domains and teams.
- Ensure safety, cybersecurity, RAM, EMC and O&M requirements are embedded.
- Escalate technical risks and manage supplier designs through controlled processes.
- Provide input to programme reviews and customer design gates.
- Chair design reviews and approve engineering deliverables within delegated authority.
