Job summary

UNOPS in Copenhagen seeks a Communications Senior Officer (retainer) to translate complex expertise into accessible messages. You will support IPMG teams by planning, drafting, and refining communications materials across technical domains such as project management, infrastructure, and grant management, while ensuring quality and consistency.

The role emphasizes collaboration with SMEs, design of visual content, and adherence to UNOPS branding guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in communications, translation, journalism, graphic design, social sciences or a related field is required.
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with an additional two years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a master’s degree.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications is required.

Responsibilities

• Formulate product-level communications plans aligned with IPMG and UNOPS objectives.
• Analyze target audience needs and select effective channels and messages.
• Collaborate with technical teams to position complex topics to external and internal stakeholders.
• Translate technical policies into clear communications for non-technical audiences.
• Develop audience-specific materials (speeches, newsletters, presentations) and manage knowledge assets.
• Design visual communications products including infographics, fact sheets, and videos.
• Ensure accessibility and brand compliance across all deliverables.
• Conduct quality reviews and collect feedback to improve communications outputs.
• Share lessons learned to improve IPMG communications globally.
• Coordinate with the Visual Designer on multimedia production.
