Job summary

Alfa Laval, based in Aalborg, Denmark, seeks a Mechanical Engineer specializing in product design maintenance to own engineering changes and ensure existing products stay at peak performance. You will drive mechanical and system design changes from assessment through implementation, collaborating across functions to deliver robust solutions.

You will assess risks, develop technical solution descriptions, and ensure documentation is updated.

Qualifications

• Requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 5 years in a similar role with mechanical steel design (structures/pressure vessel).
• Basic CAD experience with Inventor or similar; viewer level is sufficient, no 2D/3D drafting duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead changes to structural steel and mechanical components like valves, fans, and pumps.
• Own the impact assessment of changes across systems and drive changes through to closeout.
• Drive the technical part of engineering changes to maintain and improve existing products.
• Write specifications and evaluate supplier proposals for selected components.
• Assess changes for impact on risk assessments (HAZOP, FMEA, DFMEA).
• Create technical solution descriptions documenting changes across diagrams and documentation.
• Implement mechanical design changes, P&IDs, and related process changes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate and implement changes effectively.
• Monitor progress on assigned engineering changes.
