Job summary

Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH in Denmark's Jutland region seeks a Development Engineer in the pump group to develop, enhance and maintain our centrifugal pump portfolio, collaborating across R&D, operations and technical support to meet customer needs and ensure reliable delivery.

You will work hands-on, conduct testing, drive improvements and participate from idea to product launch, with a focus on design, manufacturing methods and cross-functional teamwork in a global setting.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent technical education.
• At least five years of relevant experience, preferably from an R&D or product development environment.
• Experience with hands-on product design and physical testing.
• Strong understanding of product construction, mechanical design and manufacturing methods.
• Experience with CAD and PLM systems, ideally Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Familiarity with fluid dynamics.
• Knowledge of pump technologies or the hygienic industry is an advantage.
• Familiarity with FEM and an interest in further developing your competence in this area.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Danish language skills are an advantage.

About the job

As a Development Engineer in Alfa Laval’s pump group, you will contribute to the development, enhancement and maintenance of our centrifugal pump portfolio. The role focuses primarily on strengthening and improving existing products, ensuring that they continue to meet customer needs, support reliable delivery and remain competitive in the market. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from identifying improvement opportunities and conducting hands‑on testing to supporting product launches and solving technical challenges. As part of a global, cross‑functional R&D organization, you will collaborate with colleagues across engineering, operations, technical support and other business functions.
