Here Is What The Job Entails

In the role as our next Lead Systems Engineer, your job will be to drive the technical definition and realization of complex smart metering solutions across hardware, firmware, connectivity, and cloud domains, ensuring robust and verifiable solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

You will act as a key technical authority between architecture and implementation, governing the system's perspective across disciplines and ensuring that system requirements, interfaces, integration, and validation are aligned from concept to deployment.

More specifically you will be:

  • Defining and maintaining system requirements, system behavior, and technical specifications.
  • Leading technical alignment across hardware, firmware, software, connectivity, and cloud domains.
  • Driving system integration and supporting cross disciplinary troubleshooting.
  • Ensuring traceability between requirements, design, verification, and validation activities.
  • Playing a central role in technical reviews, risk assessments, and critical engineering decisions.

You will experience the opportunity to join a growing Systems Engineering capability and help shape how future smart metering solutions are developed at Kamstrup. Therefore, you will work with advanced connectivity and Internet of Things technologies while collaborating closely with Solution Architects, developers, and product teams. This is a highly visible technical role with significant influence on product direction, engineering excellence, and the future development of the Systems Engineering discipline.

Meet your future team

With direct references to the Director of Connectivity, you will become part of the Solutions Architects team within the Water Division. Together with colleagues in Connectivity Development and Connectivity Technology, the team is responsible for defining the solution foundations that enable smart metering products across the Kamstrup portfolio. In the team you will experience an informal and collaborative environment characterized by technical excellence, strong knowledge sharing, and a shared ambition to continuously improve the way we develop products and solutions.

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions in multidisciplinary environments. You achieve work-related goals by combining strong systems thinking with the ability to influence technical direction, drive alignment across engineering domains, and take ownership of technical outcomes.

In order to succeed, we imagine that you:

  • Hold a degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or a similar field.
  • Bring extensive experience developing and delivering complex embedded or hardware-based products.
  • Possess strong knowledge of systems engineering, requirements engineering, system integration, verification, and validation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to drive technical decisions across hardware, firmware, software, connectivity, and cloud domains.
  • Have a proven track record of leading technical alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders.

As an added advantage, you may also have experience with requirements management tools, system specification, verification and validation, and wireless communication technologies; familiarity with IoT connectivity solutions across short-range, long-range, and cellular networks; knowledge of standardized interoperability protocols and industry frameworks and the ability to apply a structured and analytical approach to solving complex technical challenges.

As we are an international organization it is important that you are fluent in English. Danish proficiency is considered an advantage.
