Job summary

Sophion Bioscience is seeking a Software Manager to lead a team of eight software engineers (frontend, backend and DevOps) in the Copenhagen area. You will own the software roadmap, set technical direction, and collaborate with Product Management while managing the function's budget and growth.

You will shape AI integration in development and work closely with R&D, hardware, bioscience, and QA teams to keep energy high and delivery predictable.

Qualifications

• Experience leading eight engineers or more.
• Solid software development background, preferably with hardware-focused or complex product software.
• Experience guiding and mentoring engineers, with growth into broader leadership.
• Curiosity about AI and modern ways of working in software.

Responsibilities

• Own the software roadmap and release planning with Product Management.
• Set technical direction and quality standards for maintainable software.
• Keep delivery predictable with clear scope and timelines; visible progress.
• Lead day-to-day team activities: hiring, onboarding, mentoring, feedback, career development.
• Shape AI usage in software development and share learnings across the company.
• Manage the software budget and resources.
