Job description

Would you like to build your accounting expertise while helping create reliable financial processes across an international renewable energy technology company? As Junior Controller at Opoura, you will focus on hands-on financial administration, month-end activities, reconciliations, and coordination with our international entities.

Your role

You will join our headquarters in Silkeborg and report to Lars Kjeldsen, Chief Accountant. Working closely with Lars, colleagues across the business, and external accounting partners, you will help ensure that financial information is accurate, timely, and consistent.

This is an operational finance role with room to develop. You will gain insight into group finance, international accounting, and the practical work of integrating and streamlining financial processes across multiple entities.

Your main responsibilities
  • Process invoices, payments, expenses, bank transactions, and reconciliations accurately and on time.
  • Contribute to month-end closing, including accruals, reconciliations, documentation, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate financial information from international entities and follow up on deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and transactions between the parent company and its subsidiaries.
  • Prepare financial data, schedules, and basic analyses for management reporting and decision-making.
  • Help maintain effective controls and work with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisers when needed.
To be successful in this position, you
  • Work carefully and systematically, with close attention to data quality and documentation.
  • Take responsibility for your tasks and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Build constructive relationships with colleagues and external partners across countries and cultures.
  • Communicate clearly when requesting information, explaining discrepancies, or following up on deadlines.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and different accounting practices without losing structure or accuracy.
Your background

You bring a practical foundation in accounting or financial administration and are motivated to broaden your experience in an international group. You may be early in your career or have some years of relevant experience.

We imagine that you bring:

  • Experience with accounts payable or receivable, bank reconciliations, month-end closing, or similar accounting activities.
  • Relevant education in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a comparable vocational qualification.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel and experience working in an ERP system.
  • Strong working proficiency in Danish and English.
  • Experience handling financial information responsibly and confidentially.
  • Experience with international entities, multiple currencies, intercompany transactions, or external accountants is an advantage, but not a requirement.
What we offer
  • A full-time role with professional development across accounting, group finance, and international collaboration.
  • International exposure through work with colleagues, entities, and external partners across several countries.
  • A collaborative working environment at the headquarters of a three-time Gazelle winner recognized for sustained high growth.
  • Flexibility that contributes to a sustainable work-life balance.
