Job summary

Maersk Tankers in Copenhagen is seeking an Information Security Specialist to take ownership of governance, risk management, and compliance across the organization. You will act as a trusted security partner, helping strengthen governance, manage risk and support informed security decisions.

You will collaborate with Technology and business stakeholders to ensure security remains practical, effective and aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in information security or a related field.
• Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or CIS Controls.
• Ability to translate risk, compliance and control requirements into practical security improvements.
• Ability to independently drive risk reviews, maintain controls, collect evidence, and challenge stakeholders.
• Knowledge of GDPR, NIS2, cloud security, or third-party risk management is advantageous.

In IT Security & Platforms, you will join a team of six talented and welcoming colleagues.

You will be based in Maersk Tankers in the Copenhagen office and will report to the Head of IT Security and Platforms.

You will take ownership of key GRC activities across the organization, acting as a trusted security partner who helps strengthen governance, manage risk and compliance, and support the business in making informed security decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drive security governance processes and support risk management activities.
• Maintain and improve security policies, standards, and controls.
• Conduct security assessments and third-party risk reviews.
• Support audits and compliance initiatives.
• Provide security advisory services and contribute to technical reviews.
• Participate in incident response and continuous improvement activities.

You will work closely with stakeholders across Technology and the wider business to ensure security remains practical, effective, and aligned with business objectives.

• You understand security governance but are also comfortable discussing technical risks and solutions.
• Have 3-7 years of experience within the information security domain or in a related field.
• Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls is valuable, though not all are required. You enjoy translating risk, compliance and control requirements into practical security improvements.
• You can independently drive risk reviews, maintain controls, collect evidence, challenge stakeholders to ensure governance activities progress effectively.
• Knowledge of GDPR, NIS2, cloud security, or third-party risk management is an advantage.
