Job summary

Maersk Tankers in Copenhagen, Denmark, is looking for an Information Security Specialist to strengthen governance, risk and compliance. You will join a team of six in IT Security & Platforms and report to the Head of IT Security and Platforms.

You will own key GRC activities across the organization, helping strengthen governance, manage risk and support informed security decisions for the business. Collaboration with Technology and the wider business is essential.

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of experience in information security or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of security governance and risk-based decision making.
  • Ability to translate risk and compliance requirements into practical security improvements.
  • Ability to independently drive risk reviews, maintain controls and evidence.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, NIS2, cloud security, or third‑party risk management is a plus.

Job description

In IT Security & Platforms, you will join a team of six talented and welcoming colleagues.

You will be based in Maersk Tankers in the Copenhagen office and will report to the Head of IT Security and Platforms.

You will take ownership of key GRC activities across the organization, acting as a trusted security partner who helps strengthen governance, manage risk and compliance, and support the business in making informed security decisions.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Drive security governance processes and support risk management activities.
  • Maintain and improve security policies, standards, and controls.
  • Conduct security assessments and third-party risk reviews.
  • Support audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide security advisory services and contribute to technical reviews.
  • Participate in incident response and continuous improvement activities.

You will work closely with stakeholders across Technology and the wider business to ensure security remains practical, effective, and aligned with business objectives.

  • You understand security governance but are also comfortable discussing technical risks and solutions.
  • Have 3-7 years of experience within the information security domain or in a related field.
  • Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls is valuable, though not all are required. You enjoy translating risk, compliance and control requirements into practical security improvements.
  • You can independently drive risk reviews, maintain controls, collect evidence, challenge stakeholders to ensure governance activities progress effectively.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, NIS2, cloud security, or third-party risk management is an advantage.
