Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field.
• Experience in historic preservation preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits to assess the condition of historical buildings and structures.
• Research the history of the building to develop a preservation plan.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and other professionals on restoration plans.
• Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for restoration work.
• Obtain permits and approvals from local authorities.
• Oversee restoration on site ensuring preservation standards are followed.
• Use traditional building materials and techniques where possible.
• Inspect preserved buildings regularly to monitor condition.
• Develop maintenance plans for long-term preservation.
• Educate clients, stakeholders and the public about preservation importance.
