Job description

Location

Hedehusene, Denmark

Ready to help build a sustainable future with us? Join us as our new Head of Installation to establish and grow the new Installation team at ROCKWOOL. You'll play a central role in transforming how we manage the installation process of large CAPEX projects, working across multiple disciplines and geographies to ensure every installation is executed to the highest standards.

Your future team

You will join Project Execution, a Unit responsible for delivering complex CAPEX projects, varying from construction of new stone wool factories to converting existing production lines to more sustainable operations. Project Execution consists of Project & Programme Management, Civil, Project Support and Implementation departments. Your team will initially comprise 10 full‑time positions in the United States and 5 in Europe, with plans to expand globally as we scale. The Installation team operates on site, bringing oversight, continuity, and control of installation activities - regardless of technical discipline. You'll also work closely with project directors, engineers from specialised disciplines and a network of trusted contractors.

What you will be doing

Lead the installation team as it grows across multiple geographies. You'll set standards, the improved installation process and embed a culture of excellence, continuous learning and collaboration. Work closely with the technical areas on making sure that specialist knowledge is used most effectively and with consistency. This includes structured feedback from installation activities to the functional responsible to ensure that lessons learned are captured and implemented. Liase with the team to manage project progress and risk by tracking installation schedules, flagging delays early, and feeding accurate field information upward to project directors so decisions can be made quickly. You'll be a trusted advisor to employees and project directors on resolving installation issues and manning requirements. With a hands‑on approach, you'll stay actively involved in the field, ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the project. Promote safety and compliance supporting the various projects in ensuring site safety rules, permit‑to‑work systems, and all regulatory requirements. You'll be the consistent voice for quality and safety across the projects. Coordinate across work fronts and disciplines, working with project directors, engineers, and multiple contractors to solve problems before they elevate. Contribute to process improvement and change management. You'll build up a new department, shape how installation processes are managed and have genuine input into how to professionalize the processes. Be part of Project Execution management team, taking part of strategic development of the area working closely with your colleagues in raising the level of execution excellence.

What you bring

A background in engineering, construction management, or related field -or equivalent professional experience demonstrating project execution. Experience managing large capital construction or installation projects, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or engineering‑led environments. Demonstrated advanced knowledge in contractor management, site supervision, and quality control on complex projects with multiple disciplines and work fronts. Solid technical knowledge of construction and installation practices; you understand engineering drawings, specifications, and how to translate them into on‑site execution. Effective stakeholder management skills. You can communicate clearly with project managers, engineers, contractors, and site teams, and you adjust your approach to different audiences and cultures. A pragmatic, operationally focused mindset. You prioritise getting the right work done, in the right way, at the right time. You're comfortable with ambiguity and ad‑hoc problem‑solving. Leadership experience managing installation or construction teams in a global environment. Experience with implementing installation processes, check‑lists and other documentation required during installation activities.

Desirable: International project experience, particularly if you've worked across multiple time zones or geographies. Experience managing consultant contracts and determining when to use in‑house expertise versus external specialists. Experience leading or building teams during periods of growth or organisational change. We know you might not meet all of the points above, but you might bring skills and experience we haven't listed here. We encourage you to apply if you recognise yourself in this role.

Travel

Approximately 60 days per year (roughly one week per month), though you'll have flexibility to manage your schedule. You'll support multiple project sites and may travel across Europe, the United States, and potentially Asia as the team expands.
